I’m Hurt; I Have to Stop Now

Tweaked the back while grabbing groceries, slept wrong overnight, tripped over the curb, the list goes on. Things happen and injuries are a part of being active. Stuff happens, whether we like it or not. But that’s not to say that you can work around it. Just have to make better choices about what to do and what to AVOID. Chances are; STRETCHING is going to be priority. Keeping that body moving without aggravating it.

We all get caught up on the success and progress, but when things don’t go accordingly, this is the true test of how you can adapt to this new obstacle, which in this case, is that particular injury. You become discouraged, depressed, and lose that momentum you built up. The reality is, you start feeling defeated and exercising become a burden and start thinking that every exercise will hurt. This becomes a slippery slope and the consistency of working out that you built up for so long gets broken. When people are depressed, it shows in the workouts. Less effort, less motivation to push through, just won’t be an efficient workout.

So how do you stop this from happening?

CHANGE YOUR PRIORITY, so you can get back to what you love doing. So if the body requires you to stretch more, stretch. MAKE TIME, because this is the best thing for you. Sacrifice those couple of days and weeks, so your body feels better. At the end of the day, you can still do something. Make the necessary adjustments, so your path of consistency stays as it is. So the motto is, keep moving ladies and gentlemen. Hope you liked this week’s blog; stay tuned for more next week………………………Kei
