It is here, ladies and gentlemen. The last month of 2019. Only 31 (now 27) days to go and we turn the pages to the New Year. You’ve exercised 11 months consistently. You’re not going to let this last month slide, right? So what are things to keep in mind to continue exercising?
Avoid sweet drinks.
Around this time of year, I get tempted to get those sweet drinks. Peppermint Mocha. Sounds delicious, right? Well, there’s 52 grams of sugar in a grande size. For those that are losing weight, that is about 2 days worth of sugar intake. Once you drink something that high in sugar, you start craving other items like cookies, cupcakes, cakes, ice cream, pies, etc. If you can control your craving, then I say go for it. However, most of us cannot and it is better to avoid them at all costs.
Yes, it is cold. But once you warm up, you won’t feel the cold.
While other states and countries are experiencing snow and freezing conditions, we are dealing with 40-50 degree weather. Yes, it is cold. But, once you warm up, you won’t feel the cold. The hard part is getting out of bed and going to the gym. Fight the urge to stay in and go.
Incorporate exercises you can do anywhere.
December is a very busy time. Traveling, end of the year parties, kids are off school, the list is endless of activities that will take time away from the gym. Incorporate bodyweight exercises such as squats, push-ups, and sit-ups. Knowing that December will be a busy month for me, so I started a challenge for the month. 100 squats, 100 push-ups, and 100 situps every day. The goal is to do this even when I am traveling (going to Japan at the end of the month). This will keep me accountable when I am away from the gym.
December is it, ladies and gentlemen. Keep up with the good work you have been for the whole year. Don’t let your progress stop just because your schedule gets busy. Hope you liked this week’s blog. Stay tuned for more next Wed…..Kei
