3 things I do to avoid getting sick

Sore throat. Stuffy nose. Coughing. High fever. Flu. We all have experienced one of these in our past. How do you avoid getting sick? Here are 3 things that I do to avoid getting sick.

First, drink a lot of water. My recommendation is to invest in a big water bottle. I have a 40-oz Hydroflask that I have been using for 5 years. I take it everywhere I go, so I am constantly drinking. Days where I don’t take it with me, I don’t consume as much. So it is vital for me to take it everywhere I go. The RDA (recommended daily intake) is 8 cups, ladies and gentlemen. Remember, the body is made mostly of water.

Secondly, getting enough rest. When you don’t sleep enough, your body doesn’t recover and becomes susceptible to getting sick. So aim for getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep.

Lastly, avoid touching the face and mouth. It goes without saying that washing your hands is important, but its what you do with your hands afterward that is important. When I sneeze or cough, its always underneath my shirt/hoodie/jacket. Never on my hands. When I see people sneezing on their hands, I get grossed out. When I shake someone’s hand, I always wash right afterward. Think about all the things you touch on your hands. Our nostrils and mouth are where bacteria/viruses enter, so keep it a priority to avoid contact by any means.

What are your ways to avoid getting sick? Let me know in the comments!

Hope you enjoyed this week’s blog. Stay tuned for more next Wed……………Kei
